Is PUBLIC SAFETY Being Neglected in Your County?

- Token and insufficient efforts at reducing violent crime, by Sheriffs who seem to be mostly interested in the perks of office and their political power, rather than their duties
- Growing emphasis on giving out driving and parking citations just to fill the public treasury
- Trivial public relations events for the sake of “doing something”
- Old, routine ways of doing things despite technological advancements and improved methodologies
- Failing to treat crime victims with respect and attentiveness
Certainly not all Sheriffs are like this; however, even a few can have a negative impact upon the country…especially if they are the Sheriff in YOUR county! Citizens have a right to expect better! We demand EXCELLENCE because we deserve it and we know it can be achieved!
Is It the Sheriff’s Job to Respect and Protect Our Rights, or to Restrict Them in the Name of “Keeping us Safe”?
Some Sheriffs arrogantly flaunt an air of superiority over the average citizens. They treat us as if we are dumb animals to be protected and herded “for our own safety.” These Sheriffs seem to think that we are not intelligent enough to be entrusted with any rights or responsibilities regarding safety against crimes.
SAFEPAC.US also recognizes that there are exceptional Sheriffs who respect our rights and intelligence and who know that ordinary citizens have been extremely effective in defending themselves and their loved ones against violent crime. These Sheriffs are also aware of the reduction in violent crime where decent citizens carry concealed firearms for protection. SAFEPAC.US has seen overwhelming evidence that public safety is improved when Law Enforcement and the citizenry work as a team, rather than as opponents.
Who Should Run Law Enforcement in Your County? Local Voters and Their Elected Sheriff? Outsiders from the distant State Capital? Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.?
Why should some distant entity be at liberty to use your local law enforcement personnel and taxpayer funds to further their pet projects, some of which may even harm your county? This type of activity is not merely wasteful and invalid, it is actually un-Constitutional!

Cooperation may sometimes be desirable; however it should never be a one-sided process where one organization arrogantly and arbitrarily forces another entity to slavishly follow orders. There are important reasons why the Founders adopted Federalism and maximized the Separation of Powers, all of which are just as important today!
Why would you want to elect a county Sheriff who isn’t going to perform his duty to the local citizens and the Constitution?
Did you know that many Sheriffs blindly or unthinkingly submit to the unfunded mandates and unjustified personnel demands that the state or national governments place on them? In fact, it is almost entirely at the Sheriff’s discretion to decide whether to take on such tasks. If the Sheriff misuses the taxpayers’ money or acts contrary to the interests of the local citizens committed to supporting, he is ultimately answerable to us at the next election!

Absolutely not! SAFEPAC.US stands with candidates who demonstrate unwavering integrity, responsibility, transparency, and accountability. We know that this is not some impossible dream because there are many Sheriffs who have been able to achieve these goals. SAFEPAC.US intends to make this the norm.
Any Sheriff who subscribes to our Constitutional principles and high ethical standards in order to enlist our support will be held accountable for their actions. They must be aware that any backsliding means that we will seek a more worthy candidate in the next election.
